At Juniors at Wamberal we believe that each child is a unique individual in their own right. Each having special abilities, interests and cultural backgrounds assisting to co-construct our curriculum. We work with all families to provide a high education and care within a warm, secure environment which promotes diversity and inclusion.

We believe that building trusting relationships with each child, family and communities are the foundation for learning and we will use those relationships to con-construct and develop our curriculum extending each child’s learning.

Each child’s health, safety, security and social and emotional well-being underpins all learning experiences and is guided by our JEM program.

We will promote exercise and nutrition through our JUMP program, cultural diversity through our JIB program, sustainability and environmental practices through our JEANS program and value and experience play and learning through our JEP, JAC, JM, LITERACY and NUMERACY.

At Juniors at Wamberal we will endeavor to build on the child’s self-image, independence, belief in oneself, confidence in their well-being by fostering in each child a positive approach to their identity in the sense of responsibility, self-regulation and self-esteem through the principles and practices of the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF).

Our pledge is to:

  • Scaffold the education and development of each child as an individual who can grow a separate identity and qualities, yet still working to contribute constructively within a large group.
  • Encourage ongoing reflection about our practices and procedures to drive continuous improvement and to ensure that each child can maximise his or her learning potential and opportunities, and as educators we value the opportunities for professional development.
  • Show respect and acknowledge the traditional custodians of the land, Darkinjung Elders past and present on which the education and care takes place.
